Trail Maintenance Saturday Morning!

Trailfairies Clean-Up: Hey everyone! Time to plan this weekend festivities! And the plan we have in mind is to take a trail crew out to Trailfairies in the Buena Vista Trails and do some clean-up work. Due to the Show Low South Land Exchange, we have had to change the route for the Halloween ride this year, and it will be including Trailfairies. The idea behind this is to give the trail a good rake out to remove a lot of the loose rocks in the switchbacks, especially on the south side of the trail. We also need some trimming done in a few spots. We'd like this trail to be a little more user friendly before Halloween, especially if we have little goblins along with us!

We are going to meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Wagon Wheel trailhead and go out from there. What do you need to bring? Well, it is a wonder what a good stiff garden rake can do for a trail! Ideal for pulling loose rocks off a trail. If you have a personal McLeod, bring it along. Some hand pruners would be nice if you have those. It won't take long to do this work, but having a few hands on deck would certainly make the work go quicker and easier.

Are we biking to the location or walking? Well, if you are comfortable riding with a tool you can ride there. I have some ability with a cargo bike to haul some tools in as well, so we can load that up and you can ride your bike out there. Or, you can just walk out to Trailfairies from the TH with your tool(s) and that is cool too.

Estimate that we'll be finished up by about 10:00 a.m. If we ride, we have an obligation to give back sometimes! Well, this is one of those times, so if you can make it we'd sure love to see you.
